How we combine AI with engineering ownership

AI is good at execution. An engineer is good at thinking. A combination of both allows us to deliver faster without compromising quality and long-term sustainability.

Roles

AI automates routines. Engineers own the results.

Features

AI generates code. Engineers implement architecture.

Quality

AI generates test scripts. Engineers execute the quality strategy.

Documentation

AI creates initial drafts. Engineers translate business goals into solutions.

Lifecycle

AI provides refactoring insights Engineers own strategic development.

AI is new. Engineering discipline is not.

We've delivered software projects since 2005. AI changes how software is built, but it doesn't change the importance of architecture, communication, security, and long-term maintainability. We apply AI within established engineering practices refined across hundreds of successful projects.

AI-powered development use cases

Integrating AI into development workflows offers endless ways to accelerate delivery. To streamline your decision-making, we have packaged these capabilities into distinct, high-impact solutions.
  • 01

    AI-driven legacy modernization

We utilize AI to analyze legacy codebases, generate comprehensive documentation, and map out clear migration paths to modern technologies. This approach ensures faster refactoring, minimizes dependency risks, and guarantees a seamless transition.
  • 02

    Accelerated MVP development

By leveraging AI for scaffolding and boilerplate generation, we accelerate initial implementation and MVP delivery. With UKAD, you never have to sacrifice long-term scalability for immediate speed, you get both.
  • 03

    AI-powered platform takeover

We use AI to analyze existing codebases, documentation, dependencies, and architecture patterns, helping our teams understand unfamiliar platforms faster and reduce onboarding time when taking over support and development from another vendor.

Managing Legacy Infrastructure Through Natural Language: IIS and Agentic AI

Most of our projects have adopted containerization and cloud technologies. But in  reality, many legacy systems still run on bare-metal infrastructure. Sometimes because of strict security requirements, specific dependencies, or simply the cost and risk of migration. Now, we're talking about IIS (Internet Information Services) - Microsoft's web server that is still widely used in corporate environments. The problem is that managing such systems often requires direct server access, which creates a barrier for developers and increases operational complexity.

Understanding using AI and LLM Models in your business

Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing industries, but many business owners think they need to build custom models from scratch to benefit. In reality, by customizing existing large language models (LLMs), businesses can automate tasks, improve efficiency, and access specialized knowledge without the time and expense of developing their own AI solutions. In this article, we’ll explore how techniques like prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and embedding retrieval can help your business tailor AI to meet its unique needs.

AI-augmented development FAQ

Common questions about AI-augmented software development answered by our engineers
  • Whether a line of code is authored directly by our human engineers or generated via AI augmentation, you retain absolute, undisputed ownership of the entire intellectual property stack. Your proprietary code and project data are never shared with third parties, nor are they ever used to train public or private AI models. Your competitive advantage remains exclusively yours.

  • We exclusively use enterprise-grade AI tools to ensure your code is never used for model training. Furthermore, our internal policies strictly forbid the use of unvetted or unsecure AI platforms, regardless of their data protection promises. As a result, our AI-assisted development is every bit as secure as traditional software delivery.

  • Absolutely not. AI-assisted development is quite similar to pair programming, where one role – the driver – writes code and another – the navigator – is responsible for reviewing code, solution design, and architectural consistency. In this case, AI acts as the driver, navigated by a human engineer. It writes code based on the delivery stage and current goals, and solves other well-defined tasks. The developer’s role is to make decisions, review commits, and ensure architectural consistency.

Depending on the project’s stage, AI involvement may vary from intensive involvement to routine assistance, but it never takes control of development or removes responsibility for the results from the engineer.

  • AI-augmented development is highly cost-effective. While it doesn’t automatically slash the bill in half, delegating monotonous and basic tasks to artificial intelligence meaningfully reduces the project timeline and elevates the value per hour of the engineers' involvement. Therefore, the project takes less time, and you pay for less billable time.

  • Testing is an integral part of our development flow, regardless of the measure of AI involvement. By default, we don’t publish anything before our QA team approves it. Taking AI’s diligence into account, our engineers set up additional guardrails, like a suite of automated tests and verification in local environments. It allows us to secure processes and work only exclusively with production-ready code.

Generally speaking, our product ownership culture is the most effective guardrail. When an engineer clearly understands how the product should work and which goals it should reach, there is no difference between AI-generated and human-written code.

  • Security heavily depends on the approach to AI assistance on a project. Sometimes, AI can suggest insecure patterns if it doesn’t receive additional instructions and hasn't been fine-tuned. On the other hand, under professional orchestration, it can improve security. Artificial intelligence can detect potential vulnerabilities more effectively than humans and, therefore, enhance security. This is the approach we adhere to when providing AI-augmented software development services.

  • Our toolset for AI-assisted software development is standard because we adhere to industry benchmarks. The most important of these are GitHub Copilot, Claude, and Codex, which are used for most of our projects. The AI tool suite may vary from project to project depending on many factors. For example, GitHub Copilot provides better compliance controls; therefore, we rely on it when compliance is particularly critical. Ultimately, choosing one platform over another is always open for discussion, and we are happy to accommodate the customer’s request because our goal is to deliver a quality product, not to showcase niche tech expertise.
